Marley - 1995-2007
Marley was on her way to the pound when she came into our lives. We had been “without dog” for several months and been looking for our new family member for at least a few months.
Marley’s mom had brain cancer and had been moved into a nursing home. No one in her life wanted Marley.
We adopted her as a pet. We had no thought of turning her into a working dog.
After she had been with us for several months, she sat staring out the window. She turned to me and said, “I’m bored. Can I have a job?”
I replied, “Well, I’ve wanted a Service Dog for a long time . . . “
She jumped down out of the window and excitedly said, “That sounds like fun! Let’s try it!”
And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
