Rudy’s Words

 For a 2 year old dog, Rudy knows many words….here’s some words I remember at the moment!

Sit  Sit, rear on the floor
Down  Means to lay down or an incline of my head means to lay down
Stay  Stay where you are, don’t move
Stand  Up on your feet
Heel/Sidechair  Walk left side with our friend Jane / Walk by right side of my chair (my preferred side)
Come  Come to me 
 Okay  Release word, at ease
 Beep Beep  Move out of the way of my wheels if I back up, or move out of way in general
 Kennel  Go rest in kennel
 Off  Feet on the floor
 Settle  Calm down, relax
 Wait  Expect another command but stay where you are
 Paws up/Up  Jump, putting paws up, on indicated object
 Treat/Cookie/Biscuit  A healthy dog goodie reward
 Carrot  A favorite treat
 Cold Bone  Small ice cube, also a favorite treat 
 Jump  Jump onto indicated object
 Foot  Lift indicated paw, usually to untangle leash, have feet wiped, or nails trimmed
 Table  Go up on your table (feeding station cum leash up table)
 Roll Over  Just for fun or when I need to see your side
 Belly Up  Just for fun or when I need to see your belly
 Sneeze  Plain silliness, I often ask “Are you sick?” to elicit a sneeze
 Right  Turn Right
 Left  Turn Left
 Back  Go back a few steps, still working on this but doing well
 Here  No nonsense come right now to where I indicate and sit
 Come side chair  Come to left side of my wheelchair
 walk side chair  Walk next to the left side of my wheelchair
 Go to work  Time to go on a public outing and race up table to put on work vest!
 Take it  Take indicated object
 Bring it  Bring object to my lap by jumping in lap or paws up on my knee to place object in my hand
 Drop lap  Dropping indicated object into my lap usually by jumping in my lap
 Come help  Come help carry out a task or pick something up, but if hears something drop he’s right there to help!
 Turn the light on/off  Go turn on/off the bedroom light
 Push 911  Go activate life alert alarm
 Get phone  fetch my phone
 Get remote/slippers  fetch my tv remote; go get my slippers from bedroom, one at a time
 Pull /Pull back  Pull, tug indicated object such as a jacket sleeve or strap on cupboard/fridge, adding the word “back” indicates back up while pulling
 Pull Sock  Pull off sock
 Try again  Encouragement to complete command
 Touch  Touch indicated object with paw
 Say Hi  Release to greet someone
 Go for ride  Get in vehicle
 Go for walk  Go to table to get leashed up for a walk
 Good boy!  Praise for a good job
 Yay!  Yay Rudy, giving him praise for a job well done
 Look  Pay attention, look at me
 Leave it  Ignore distraction or object of interest
 Bring leash  Retrieve leash and put in my hand
 Take to “name”  Take item I give him and bring to another party
 Clean up toys  Put toys away in box, hope to build on to teach trash cleanup and laundry assistance
 Beg/Turn  Just for fun, sitting pretty and pirouettes are great to strengthen hind quarters
 Night Night  Go to his kennel to retire for day and await my invitation to sleep with me on my bed!!!
